Friday, February 3, 2012 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Shanks Mare, Wrightsville, PA

Travel with us on a hypothetical journey on the river canals of Pennsylvania according to first hand accounts by Charles Dickens and Harriet Beecher Stowe. These renowned authors describe what passenger travel by canal was like during the early 19th century. See photographs showing historic canal sites and listen to the colorful accounts of canal journeys. Hear recordings of canal songs, and let your imagination place you on a canal boat as you perhaps float right by the 1880s canal general store now occupied by Shank’s Mare!

Fee – Includes Dinner & Speaker – Members $36/Person, Non-Members $40/Person
