Sayre Riverfront Park - North Branch
County: Bradford
2 miles north of Lockhart St. Bridge
Parking, restroom facilities, pavilion, river access, and camping is available.

Towanda Riverfront Park - North Branch
County: Bradford 
Turn north at the east side of Veterans Memorial Bridge to the park
There is parking, restrooms, picnic facilities. river access and camping available.

Wysox Township Park - North Branch
County: Bradford
From Rt. 6, turn south on SR 2032, turn right before bridge to the park
There is parking, restrooms, river access, and picnic facilities available.  There is lodging, food and phone available within a quarter mile.

Asylum Township Old Mill Park - North Branch
County: Bradford
From Rt. 6 south on Rt. 187, 3.5 miles, left on SR 2014, 1.8 miles proceed right on SR 2014, bear right on TR 467, 1 mile to access site, river on the right.
There is parking, restrooms, river access, and picnic facilities available.  This site is reported to be the site of a small village on the east side of the river and mills on the west side connected by a ferry.  The site/mill was named after Charles Homet who fled from France and in 1815 he was the next to most wealthy man in Asylum.

Nesbitt Park - North Branch
County: Luzerne
Between the Veteran’s Memorial and Market Street Bridges

Today, this natural and historic greenway extends between the Veteran’s Memorial and Market Street Bridges along the west banks of the Susquehanna River. This pastoral grassy setting is used by picnickers, walkers, and boaters gaining access to the river from a newly upgraded launch and parking lot. This is a paved access with parking, picnic pavilion and lodging, food and phone located within one mile.

Test Track Park - North Branch
County: Columbia
South Eaton Street, Berwick, PA 18603, off Rt. 11

This is a public park with paved launch, parking, picnic pavilion and camping. Lodging and food is accessible within one mile. It was once used as an obstacle course to test military tanks produced at the Berwick American Car and Foundry plant during WWII and the Korean Conflict.

Bloomsburg Town ParkBloomsburg Town Park - North Branch
County: Columbia
From Rt. 11 in Bloomsburg, turn south on Rt. 487.  Turn right just before the East Bloomsburg Bridge onto Fort McClure Blvd.

Town Park offers many acres of recreational activities including baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a fitness trail, the Bicentennial Entertainment Pavilion and a Skate Board Park. Also available are picnic pavilions, charcoal grills and a lagoon that is stocked with fish for an annual fishing derby. There is also a carry-in river access.  Lodging and food are accessible within one mile.

Shikellamy State Park Marina - Confluence of North and West branches
County: Northumberland
Off of Route 147 on Packer Island. Follow the park signs.

The 54-acre Shikellamy Marina section is in Northumberland County, between the Borough of Northumberland and the City of Sunbury on the southern tip of Packer’s Island, at the confluence of the West Branch and North Branch Susquehanna River.  It offers picnic facilities, benches, and 1.5 miles of paved trails.

Shikellamy Overlook is reached from the town of Shamokin Dam by going north on US 11, then turning right onto County Line Road. Follow the park signs.

The two viewpoints at Shikellamy Overlook are 360 feet above the river confluence. They offer spectacular views of Sunbury, Northumberland and the surrounding areas. The 78-acre Shikellamy Overlook section is on the western shore of the Susquehanna River and overlooks the confluence of the West and North Branches of the Susquehanna River.

Mariah Quant Memorial Garden - West Branch
County: Union
Along Walnut Alley in Lewisburg
This quiet pocket park provides lovely views of the West Branch, benches, and native flowers planted in memory of Mariah Quant.  It has been planted with native species as part of the Chesapeake BayScapes program and is maintained by the Borough of Lewisburg as a public park.

Soldiers Memorial Park - West Branch
County: Union
Along North Front Street, between Market Street and St. John Street in Lewisburg
This 2-acre riverside park has numerous benches, picnic tables, and ample shade is provided from mature trees.  From this park a visitor has a wonderful view of the town’s largest historic bridge: The circa 1900 steel truss bridge spans the West Branch of the Susquehanna. Additionally two circular stone-masonry bases for the former water towers associated with the Lewisburg Waterworks Company (est. 1883) are located in the park.

Milton State Park - West Branch
County: Northumberland
From the east, take PA 147 to PA 642 and exit at the park.  From the west, take US 15 to West Milton and take PA

This 82 acre island park on the West Branch has soccer fields, seasonal restrooms, picnic tables, drinking water, charcoal grills, 1 mile of wooded trail and half mile of stone walking path.  The Muilton State Park DCNR public boat access is located on the east side of the island.

Hermani Park - West Branch
County: Northumberland
Corner of Center and Front streets, in Milton
Learn about downtown Milton at an interpretive kiosk, or rest on a bench at this pocket park.

Lincoln Park - West Branch
County: Northumberland
Along Front Street in Milton
Enjoy river views, a gazebo, and interpretive kiosks at this local park.  The community music in the park series is held here in the summer.

Loyalsock Township Riverfront Park - West Branch
County: Lycoming
From I-180/220, take exit 23B toward Montoursville/Warrensville Road.  Merge onto East Third Street/Old Montoursville Road.  Turn right at Canfield Lane then turn right at Greevey Road.  The park entrance is on the left.

This 56 acre park includes Canfield Island National Historic Site and James P. Bressler Heritage Trail, the Greevy boat access, and access to the Loyalsock Bikeway.  Riverfront Park also contains a pavilion, several fishing access points, and a large multipurpose field.

Susquehanna State Park - West Branch
County: Lycoming
From US 220, take the Reach Road Exit near Williamsport.  Turn right onto Reach Road.  Turn right onto Arch Street.  Turn right into the park before the Arch Street Bridge.

Enjoy 20 acres of riverfront park in the City of Williamsport.  Picnic tables and a pavilion are available.  The Hiawatha paddle boat is docked seasonally at the park.

Riverview Park Woodward Township - West Branch
County: Clinton
Off of Route 150 in Lock Haven
Riverview Park, on the banks of the West Branch Susquehanna River, offers recreational facilities, wildlife viewing, birding, children's play area, paved hiking/biking path. Pavilions, picnic areas, volleyball and boat launch nearby.

Hyner View State ParkHyner View State Park - West Branch

Be inspired by the spectacular view at Hyner View State Park. This state park features a scenic vista overlooking the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and is a favorite spot for hanggliding. You can also find more than five miles of snowmobile trails and a snowmobile trailhead.

Elliot's Park - West Branch
County: Clearfield
Along River Road, north of Route 322 bridge in Clearfield
This riverbank park was created by a Clearfield couple in memory of their beloved dog and features benches, picnic tables, river views, seasonal decorations, and wood carvings.  The park is privately developed and maintained, but is open to the public.  Please respect this private property.

Upper and Lower Witmer Park - West Branch
County: Clearfield
Both parks are accessible from North Front Street in Clearfield
Upper Witmer park has a playground and walking track for the kids and adults to enjoy and lower Witmer park is home to festivals such as the River Front Festival in the summer and several music events and a great place to enjoy the river and ducks.

Irvin Park - West Branch
County: Clearfield
In Curwensville, take Susquehanna Ave/Route 453, to Irvin Park Road
The park is mostly wooded, level and well located to serve the residents of the community and surrounding areas. There are four family sized pavilions available for picnics and reunions. These pavilions may be reserved by calling the Borough Office (236-1840). Irvin Park provides a nice band shell and is the setting for the Curwensville Days celebrations during one full week in the month of July.

This recreation area is on the shores of Curwensville Lake and offers many activities such as boating, volleyball, hiking, fishing, and camping.

Millersburg River Front Park - Middle Section
County: Dauphin

In 1807, Daniel Miller set aside nearly 20 acres of land for public park space in his original plan for "Milersburgh". Today his legacy is used by thousands of residents and visitors as Millersburg River Front Park, a gateway to the Lykens Valley Rail Trail and site of the historic Millersburg Ferry.

Millersburg Market Square/Veterans Park - Middle Section
County: Dauphin
Near 180 Market Street, Millersburg
The focal point of the downtown business district, the area includes war memorials as well as the historic gazebo. Built in 1891 for outdoor concerts and public meetings, the structure remains the centerpiece of the town. 

MYO Park - Middle Section
County: Dauphin
Located in Millersburg, across the Wiconisco Creek at the south end of River Front Park
This picnic and recreational area was established by returning WWI veterans in 1919. Originally known as "Water House Grove", the name was changed in the 1930s to Millersburg Youth Organization (MYO) and hosts nature trails, athletic events and public gatherings. 

Fort Hunter Park - Middle Section

Spectacularly located on a bluff overlooking the Susquehanna and Blue Mountain, Fort Hunter Park consists of about 50 acres. Donated in 1980 by the Meigs family, the park includes ten historic buildings, a walking trail, two picnic pavilions, two sets of playground equipment and a play field. The park offers a variety of programs and festivals throughout the year and the Mansion is open for guided tours.

City Island Park - Middle Section
County: Dauphin
Accessible from the Market Street Bridge, Harrisburg, PA 17101
This 63 acre island in the middle of the Susquehanna River features a picnic area, beach, boating, kayak tours, a riverboat, fishing, hiking biking, scenic areas, interpretive signs, playground, multiple use sports facilities, entertainment attractions and concessions.

D&H Rail Trail - North Branch

This rail trail runs 32 miles from the New York state border, passes under the historic Starrucca Viaduct in Lanesboro, and ends along the Lackawanna River in Simpson, PA.

Wyoming Valley Levee Trail System - North Branch
County: Luzerne
The west side of the Susquehanna River between Forty Fort and Plymouth and connects to the West Side Trail and Warrior Trails

This system provides 12 total miles of paved trail along the levee in four different "reaches" along the east and west sides of the river.  The trail is open to pedestrians, runners, bikers, and cross-country skiing in winter.  Look for benches and information kiosks.

Susquehanna Warrior Trail - North Branch
County: Luzerne
Trail head is located on the right-of-way of the former Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western railroad and runs between the PPL Riverlands Park to three miles north of Shickshinny and parallels Rt. 11 and the Susquehanna River

The Susquehanna Warrior Trail offers recreational opportunities extending 18.5 miles along the old Delaware Lehigh and Western Railroad beds from the PPL Riverlands Recreational are to Larksville in central Pennsylvania.

Mocanaqua Trail - North Branch
County: Luzerne

The Mocanaqua Loop Trail System consists of four individual looping trails that together comprise about 15 miles of varying terrain along the northern reach of Penobscot Mountain. All the trails take hikers along a natural unimproved trail that traverses the mountainside as well as the ridgetop area, where there are several scenic overlooks.

Wetlands Nature Area Trails
County: Luzerne

The Wetlands Nature Area is part of the Susquehanna Riverlands Environmental Preserve and has two trails, which wind through fields and forests along the Susquehanna River and provide many opportunities for nature study, wildlife observation, and photography.  The Wetlands Area is closed from dusk until 8am, except with special permission.

Dale's Ridge Trail - West Branch

This 2 mile hiking trail begins at the historic Dale/Engle/Walker farmstead and has scenic views from the ridge.  Look for the trailhead kiosk for more information on this trail made possible by an easement with the Merrill W. Linn Land and Waterways Conservancy.

James P. Bressler Heritage Trail - West Branch
County: Lycoming

The half-mile, ADA-accessible trail is part of Loyalsock Township’s Riverfront Park and explores significant prehistoric American Indian settlements through interpretive signs.  It was named in honor of a local archaeologist who led studies near the site and is a pleasant walk, history lesson, and nature study.

Susquehanna River Walk and Timber Trail - West Branch
County: Lycoming

This 4 mile paved bike/pedestrian path loops along the levee system in Williamsport, South Williamsport, and Loyalsock Township.  Interpretive signs and sculpture explore the area’s lumber and natural heritage.  Benches provide great river views.  At its eastern end the trail connects with the Loyalsock Bikeway.

Lycoming Creek Bikeway - West Branch
County: Lycoming
To reach the Bowman Baseball Park trailhead from I-180, take Exit 28 and turn right on Maynard Street. Turn left at West 4th Street and continue to the baseball park. Parking is available at Historic Bowman Baseball Park when games are not in progress.

This 5.5 mile bike/pedestrian trail begins at the northern end in Hepburnville among shady trees and travels through farmland and recreational spaces as you head south.

Pine Creek Rail Trail - West Branch

Starting in Asonia and ending in Jersey Shore along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, this scenic rail trail covers almost 62 miles along the Pine Creek Gorge.  One of the top great bike tours in the country, the packed gravel trail has an easy 2% grade and designated equestrian sections.  Refer to the website to find entry and exit points, along with camping information.

Lock Haven Levee Trail - West Branch
County: Clinton
Trail is accessible at a number of locations along East and West Water streets in Lock Haven.

Along a 2.25 mile stretch of the levee is a walkway fully supplied with benches, trash receptacles, and lighting. A recreational pavilion with bath house and beach are located near the end of Vesper Street. A canoe portage service is located near the dam so boaters may traverse to the river below the dam.
