Greenways for America

Often named the father of greenways in America, Charles Little wrote one of the first comprehensive books on greenways.

His book describes the characteristics of greenways, or linear open spaces; shows how they restore contact with nature; and offers advice on planning, engineering, and politics.

You'll enjoy overviews of the many different greenways across the nation, including the Platte River Greenway in Denver, CO and the Hudson River Valley Greenway in NY. This one is a staple on our Susquehanna Greenway office bookshelf!

The book is widely available through major online retailers. You can enjoy a preview of the book through Google Books.
