The Civil War Comes to Wrightsville

Welcome local author and historian Scott Mingus, Sr. for his Civil War presentation based on his book “Flames beyond Gettysburg – The Confederate Expedition to the Susquehanna River, June 1863”. We’ll hear about the Confederates mission to seize the vital Susquehanna River Bridge between Wrightsville and Columbia. We’ll also learn about the capture and ransom of York, and the activities around the railroads and Hanover Junction. This important story will help us realize the vital part our area and its residents played in a turning point of the war.
